Character cottage in the Georgian port of Charlestown, once a
working china-clay exporting harbour now the tranquil home of the Square Sail
fleet of square-rigged sailing vessels. The ships, and the harbour at
Charlestown, are often used in filming for television and cinema.
There are a couple of good pubs within walking distance, both
offering a range of lovely food ! Charlestown is just a couple of miles from
the Eden Project and makes an ideal base for visiting the Cornish Riviera and
touring all of Cornwall. |

Poppy Cottage offers very spacious accommodation with 2
bedrooms; one large double bedroom with sitting area which also has a put-up
bed, the other bedrrom has twin beds. On the same floor, the bathroom has both
a bath and shower. On the ground floor, there is a large lounge / diner with
wood burning stove, colour television, video & DVD player and a dining
table suitable for six people.
There is a good-sized cloakroom with toilet and plenty of
storage space. The kitchen has an electric cooker, microwave, fridge with
freezer compartment and washing machine. The sunny garden, bordered by a
stream, has a patio with garden furniture and barbecue. There is off-road car
parking right by Poppy Cottage No Smoking Open All Year Special Breaks may be

Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan, near to the quaint fishing village of
Mevagissey and only a couple of miles to the nearest beaches. However, there is
also easy access for touring all of Cornwall so Yet Gwynn is an ideal base if
you wish to travel further afield. Polgooth village has a good local shop and

Salamander is the oldest building in the picturesque harbour
village of Charlestown. Built by Sir Charles Rashleigh for the export of China
Clay, this Georgian village is still centred on the harbour - the base for
Square Sail's fleet of square rigged sailing vessels. fleet of ships and the
village itself are often used for filming - "The Three Musketeers", "The Eagle
has Landed" etc.
The village has two popular local pubs which serve good meals
and there is also a restaurant and tea rooms. Charlestown is only a short drive
to the Eden project and well located for visiting the attractions of the
Cornish Riviera or touring all of Cornwall.
Salamander offers accommodation for 4 people in 2 double
bedded rooms and has a splendid spa bathroom. The lounge has comfortable lounge

Lyndhurst is a delightful country cottage, just 5 minutes from
the Eden Project and yet in an extremely tranquil setting with views across the
valley.
There are many other attractions within an easy drive from
Lyndhurst; Lanhydrock House & Gardens, Tregrehan, Pine Lodge and the Lost
Gardens of Heligan, and the coastal towns of Fowey and Mevagissey provide
pleasant places to wander, enjoy local food in the many restaurants and take in
the sights. The nearest local beach is just 3 miles from Lyndhurst. There is a
pub within 2 miles which serves a wide range of meals throughout the
day.
Lyndhurst is set in a large secluded garden, shared by 2
friendly cats and 4 chickens - always good at breakfast. The accommodation
comprises : Lounge / diner with colour television and CD player, there is a
dining table and seating for 4 people, Kitchen with fridge/freezer, washing
machine, cooker and microwave.
An open staircase leads up to 2 bedrooms; 1 double and 1 twin
provided with quilts and pillows The bathroom has a bath with shower over,
washbasin and toilet. Heating is provided by a Wood Burning Stove in the

Holly Bank is a very comfortable, private bungalow in an
elevated position, on the fringe of London Apprentice, just south of St
Austell. Situated in its own delightful gardens, with patio and sitting area,
there are beautiful views over the Pentewan valley and across to Kings Wood.
Polgooth village - about a mile away - has a good local pub
and village shop. In London Apprentice, there is a local shop / fish&chip
shop, Queenies, and a restaurant, the Kingswood.
There is very easy access to the Pentewan Valley cycle/walking
trail, part of the Cornish Way, which leads to St Austell, or down to Pentewan,
the Lost Gardens of Heligan and Mevagissey. The Eden Project is about 6

Merrifield Cottage is quietly located in the grounds of
Merrifield Mews, near the edge of Charlestown village. Charlestown is a
Georgian village, originally built by Sir Charles Rashleigh for the export of
China Clay. The harbour is now the home port of Square Sail's fleet of
square-rigged sailing ships, often used in filming both in the port and on the
high seas. A superb heritage centre in the village tells the tale of the the
bustling port's village life in the 19th Century. There are several good eating
places, pubs etc in the village and nearby.
Accommodation at Merrifield Cottage is open-plan on two levels;
the entrance to the property leads through a wide, galley-style kitchen to the
dining area at the rear. A door leads to the shower room with toilet &
handbasin. To the right-hand side is a large lounge area which enjoys a large
aspect window. Stairs lead up to the large double bedroom, set in the roof of
the property with Velux and a feature window giving a light, airy feel to the
room.
The lounge area is furnished with a large, high-quality double
sofa bed and a similar, single sofa bed. There is a colour television and hi-fi
unit with radio, CDs, DVD player etc. The double bedroom has a large double
bed, an alcove with drawers and hanging space plus a further single sofa bed.
The kitchen is well-equipped and has an electric cooker with oven and ceramic
hob, microwave, washing machine, kettle, toaster and an extractor fan etc.
Generous supplies of china, glass ware and utensils are provided for your
holiday use.
Outside, there is a small patio area, accessed from a glazed
door to the rear of the lounge, with patio furniture and a barbecue. There is
