Get your skates on… the winter season is drawing near, the chill in the air reminding us summer has flown past. The Eden Project, for the third year running, are celebrating the winter season with their festival A Time of Gifts. But, before they get into the full swing of the festival, they are opening Britain's largest outdoor ice rink in time for the October half-term holidays. And there's lots more space for spectators this year ! You'll have plenty of time to practice your Torvill and Dean twirls before Christmas. Fun and Celebration all winter long !
Where else in the world can you take the surreal stroll from the romantic winter chill of a skating rink to the sensuous subtropical warmth of the rainforest? This scene, like no other, will be home to 'A Time of Gifts' - a time for fun and celebration but also a time to rediscover the spirit, not just of Christmas, but of midwinter festivals of all kinds. And a place to rethink what has become for many a money-spinning fest where the real reasons for celebration seem to lie buried under the weight of commercialism.
'A Time of Gifts' will demonstrate that gifts don't necessarily mean lots of money - in fact the most precious rarely do. Eden was built to remind us of the connections that sustain us all - our interdependence on plants and the people who produce them for us all over the world - the global connections that make up our lives. What better time of year to reflect on that and where better than in this astonishing global garden - now as vibrant in midwinter as it has ever been for millions in midsummer.

And there's more ! Special Offer For the future, the Eden Project has set itself the target of 10% of is visitors arriving by some other form of transport than the motor car. To encourage cyclists, arrive at Eden on a bike and you get a reduction off the normal Adult entry at the Fast Track entrance. So, if you're cycling to Eden, don't buy a ticket in advance, just lock your bike in one of the bike racks, go straight to the Fast-Track entrance !

The same offer is open to walkers, although, if you are able to walk to Eden, it helps to have a note from the place that you are staying at near to Eden !

You'll have a chance to watch how the Project evolves, see how the plantings develop and enjoy the other attractions within Eden throughout the year.

The main events are :
Spring - Bulb Mania - zillions of bulbs, a fantastic 3-month display
Summer - Jungle Season - hands-on activities, parades and bands galore
Winter - Time of Gifts - Britain's largest outdoor ice rink is at the centre of these winter celebrations. Plenty of space for spectators around the rink.

And with lots of other stuff going on as well, you can bet that there's tremendous interest in visiting the Eden Project again and again during the year!

Our Fast Track tickets are the same price as when you queue to buy a ticket at Eden.  But, once in the Visitor Centre's Entrance Hall, you'll go through the Advance ticket deskand be able to get in without having to join the queue to pay!

Arrive early
If it's your first visit to Eden, it's probably best to arrive first thing in the morning, generally gates are open at 9.30am with Eden opening at 10.00am so that you can enjoy a really full day at Eden. Winter opening - November to March - Eden opens at 10.00am and last entry is at 3.00pm and Eden closes at 4.30pm. Summer opening - April to October - last entry is 4.30pm, Eden generally closes at 6.00pm but see the information on the summer season Jungle Nights !
